Just introducing myself as part of a class project. We’re in grad school together. Charlotte’s the mastermind behind the camera, she wanted me to talk about my life, which, yeah, sounds tremendously exciting right? But we’ll do our best to be at least moderately entertaining. Also, in the future, I will try to get Charlotte out from behind her pipe.

So in this first episode, you meet me, my friend Charlotte Lu, and my sister Lydia (accidentally). And I introduce you to a parody of my mom as well, who, hopefully, you will never meet.

Finding amino acids in interstellar space is a Holy Grail for astrobiologists, as this would raise the possibility of life emerging on other planets after being seeded with the molecules. In the latest survey, astronomers in Spain sifted through thousands of signals from Sagittarius B2, a vast dust cloud at the centre of our galaxy. Sarah is currently in Brazil at Inhotim, which is probably the best contemporary art park in the world, and I am extremely jealous, so I keep looking at photographs of the art that she gets to live with while she’s there.

The above piece, “Viewing Machine,” is a play on kaleidoscopes from Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson, who is A. one of my favorite artists, and B. the subject of this rap song. (“I’m a remote control from Best Buy / My shit is universal.”)
